Using API to change field to read-only in Quantify UI


This question is a bit of a longshot but here goes - is there a way to use the API to make it so any field that is updated via an inbound integration into Quantify (for us that would be Customer and Vendor names, addresses and contact info) is set to read-only?

We are looking for the best way to ensure that our data stays in sync between WebApps and Quantify, since we are only doing a one-way integration (i.e. all changes to Customers and Vendors must happen in our accounting system, which will integrate the changes to Quantify). Our other idea is to just configure user permissions to prevent anyone from changing records or adding in new Customers/Vendors into Quantify.

What is the recommended way for ensuring things stay in sync for these data entities?
